I saw another amazing application of technology online today in a website called Casper, I couldn't help it but start to wonder and think of how the world would be like a decade from now. Really amazing stuff!
Casper is an innovative web-solution to present aircraft movements in an attractive design, live and recorded traffic is presented using Google Maps. Using a proprietary track processing algorithm really smooth flying aircraft can be shown with speeds up-to 100 times.
As I write this post, Casper is displaying LIVE flight movements of planes at the Schipol Int'l Airport in Amsterdam. In this site, you can:
- Play-back on different speeds up to 100 times
- See different aircraft models for different types
- See different coloring of the aircraft depending on height, direction or airline
- See the labels near the aircraft with information like call sign, aircraft type, height, speed, etc.
- See the trails behind the aircraft
