POSITION: ESTATE OFFICERS -MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Purpose of the Job
To assist the Estate and Administration Manager in the supervision of refurbishment, maintenance and repair of mechanical installation in TRA buildings, motor vehicles and acquisition of new motor vehicle equipment, machines and motorized facilities.
Major Activities of the Job
(i) Inspect and supervise refurbishment, maintenance and repair of TRA mechanical installations, motor vehicles, Generator and other machines offices.
(ii) Advise the course of action after inspection of the work.
(iii) Advise on specifications and designs acquisitions of mechanical requirements such as gensets, cooling systems and other motorized equipment.
(iv) Assist in preparation of bid documents for works.
(v) Participate in evaluating tenders and recommend award of contracts.
(vi) Assist in undertaking contract management and following up on timely completion of the contracted works.
(vii) Assist in preparation of procurement plans and budget for mechanical work.
(viii) Prepare bills of quantities for mechanical work.
(ix) Advise for payments and certify and prepare payment certificates for contractors and consultants.
(x) Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports for works.
(xi) Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Job Requirements
Qualification
(i) Advanced Diploma or University degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent.
(ii) Registered with the Engineers Registration Board.
(iii) Relevant Postgraduate Studies or a Masters Degree or its equivalent from a
recognised Institution/University will be an added advantage.
Experience
Three (3) years in Civil Engineering related matters.

(iv) Prepare requests for quotations, evaluate and recommend award of tenders.
(v) Advice on the approval to issue LPOs or contracts.
